Meet the Chefs Behind TasteIt: From Apprentices to Headline Acts

Meet the Chefs Behind TasteIt: From Apprentices to Headline Acts

There are four faces you will see on our chef page, but the kitchen behind them is a team of twelve. Here is who is actually cooking your dinner and where they came from.

The TasteIt kitchen team at work

Marco — the head chef

Marco trained in Milan before moving here eight years ago. He runs the pass on weekends, obsesses over the jus and has the loudest voice in any room — until service starts, when he goes completely quiet.

Priya — the manager

Priya is the bridge between the kitchen and the floor. She does the ordering, the rota and the impossible job of predicting how many people will order the ribeye on a rainy Tuesday.

Lucia — the sommelier

Lucia built the wine card from scratch. She tastes every new arrival against three dishes before it makes the list, and she has never once recommended a bottle a guest regretted.

The pass crew

The rest of the team — the two commis, the pastry chef and the four floor staff — are the reason the machine runs. They prep at 8am, plate at 12 and still find energy to argue about music in the back. They are the reason it feels like coming home.

Lovely to finally put faces to the food. The team is clearly the secret.

The pastry chef deserves a feature of their own. That lava cake!

Been coming for two years and this explains why the service is always so smooth.

The music argument is the most relatable part of this whole article.
